Alyson Bushman
Welcome to my classroom! I am really excited to be at Madison Elementary School this year. I grew up in Manitowoc and graduated from Roncalli High School in 2006. After graduation I went off to college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I studied special education Learning Disabilities, Cognitive Disabilities, and Emotional/Behavior Disorders. I graduated in December 2010 and took my first teaching job in the Green Bay Area Public School District. In 2012, I took a job in the Manitowoc Public School District at Jefferson Elementary School teaching students with Emotional/Behavioral Disorders. After working there for two schools years, I transferred from Jefferson to Madison! I have now been at Madison since 2014 and loving it!! The staff and students are enjoyable to work with every single day.

The students who come into my room get a mix of academics, social skills, and self-regulation skills throughout the school year. We have many small groups that revolve around self-regulation and what tools the students can use that help them be ready to learn. We also have many small groups that do reading, writing, and math. All of the groups are geared towards what the students need based on what they demonstrate in the lessons.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Kurt, and we share our home with one yellow lab named Nala, our son, James, and our daughter Alexandra. We will have many adventures ahead of us over the years. As a family, we enjoy going camping, going for walks, and playing outside in general.
