Welcome to Madison School!

I'm Stacie Opahle and I'm honored to be a members of the Madison Cougar Community.   I was previously the Principal at Jefferson Elementary from 2015-2019.  I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse in elementary/middle level education and mathematics and a master's degree in education from St. Norbert College and a master's in educational leadership from National Louis University.  Previously I worked as a teacher and administrator for the Mishicot School District for 15 years.

I enjoy staying active in the community by volunteering at local events and organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Boys and Girls Club of Manitowoc Committee.

I understand Madison Elementary is a very special place for many reasons. Established in 1914 near Union Park, Madison moved to its current site in 1956 and is now over 100 years old.   Some talk about Madison’s location on the shoreline of Lake Michigan.  Others are attracted by the sense of intimacy they feel when they walk in the door—with around 260 students, we are the smallest elementary school in the Manitowoc Public School District.   Ultimately, it is the people in our school community—past and present—who have made Madison what it is today.  Each child's gifts are threads in the Madison fabric, and it is a treasure to learn together every day.

I look forward to learning alongside our staff and students this year!  Feel free to reach out to me for any reason as we walk this learning journey together. Please make sure to check out our school Facebook page for the latest happenings and photos.

With Cougar Pride,
